This campground is operated by the U.S. Forest Service and is located 10 miles north of Brown Mountain Beach Resort. The campground is open from April 1 – October 31. There are 19 sites for tents and small campers, but hook-ups are not available. It includes bathhouse with flush toilets with hot water, fire rings, water, and picnic tables. The trailhead to Thorpes Creek Falls is located in the campground. The fee to use the campground is $10.

Camping at Wilson Creek, Pisgah National Forest

Dispersed primitive camping is allowed throughout the forested area, staying at least 200 feet from any water. Camping is allowed on Pisgah National Forest land only! Exceptions to this rule may occur along major Forest Service roads, where primitive campsites have been designated and signed to protect water quality and other natural resources. Camping on private property is prohibited. All campfires must be low impact, and you should check with the Grandfather Ranger District to ensure that there is no fire ban.
