Google, Inc. will bring free wireless Internet service to downtown Lenoir. Google announced its plans to award the City of Lenoir an $110,348 grant to develop WiFi access in the downtown sector. Local leaders hope the new addition to downtown will be an added feature to enhance and market Lenoir and its downtown to visitors and industry alike. The service will be operated by the city, and the agreement with Google runs for three years.
