A recent study by The Boyd Company—a New Jersey-based consultant—selected Lenoir as one of the top small market cities in the country for high-technology manufacturing. The Boyd Company is a national site selection company used by clients like Hewlett-Packard, Pepsi, and Pitney Bowes and Times.

The independent report issued by The Boyd Company reveals that Lenoir is one of the top-three markets for high-tech manufacturing in the United States, which puts Lenoir as the “Best in the East,” according to The Boyd Company. The report compares costs for technology companies and evaluates operating costs looking at average pay, benefits, electric power, amortization, property and sales tax, and corporate travel.

Lenoir’s total of $19.97 million was the lowest.
