When you visit Lenoir & the NC foothills, one of the things you will notice is that the Catawba Valley is home to many amazing breweries. A great way to experience the breweries and avoid missing any of them is to follow the Catawba Valley Ale Trail. Now thanks to a new digital passport app, it’s easy to work your way from one spot to another.
You could be one of the first to get a stamp from each location! Just use the app to check in at each of the breweries after you’ve enjoyed a refreshing glass of one of their award-winning brews made from local ingredients. The app also allows you to qualify for a prize at each participating brewery.
Lest you worry that your trek across the Catawba River Valley’s breweries could become boring after the first one or two, you should know that each segment of your journey is filled with unique landscapes and cultures. You’ll get a taste of what the Catawba Native American Tribe found so endearing for more than 12,000 years before European settlers arrived. In addition, the 14 breweries on this trail are each unique in their own way.
Whether you start on the western end at Hillman Beer in Old Fort and head east or begin in Lenoir, North Carolina and head down to Granite Falls, Hickory, and Newton before heading west, you are sure to have an amazing time experiencing not only the delicious craft breweries, but also a ton of sights along the way.
