Butchers around the world will tell you just how special F1 Wagyu beef is. It’s tastier and healthier!
Have you ever visited an area that obviously goes above and beyond to ensure that every visitor and resident is never left lacking for something fun and exciting to do? Well, when you visit Lenoir & the NC foothills, you’ll see what we mean about that. Even families that live here get into the action! That is what Madison Bumgarner, a Caldwell County native, decided to do anyway. His family raises F1 Wagyu beef cattle and is in the process of opening the 4440 Ranch & Cattle Company later this year in downtown Lenoir, North Carolina.
If you simply can’t wait to experience this amazing beef, you can visit their flagship store on Highway 268, in the big red barn across from Patterson School. Their butchers produce all major cuts of beef, as well as processed specialty items. You may have even already enjoyed their beef, as The Pour House offers a delicious F1 Wagyu hamburger.
Butchers around the world will tell you just how special F1 Wagyu beef is. It’s tastier and healthier! It used to be you could only import Wagyu beef, and it was incredibly expensive. By breeding a 100% fullblood Wagyu bull with a full-blooded Angus cow, the result, F1 Wagyu, is very similar (some even say better!) It has a ton of marbling and a buttery flavor that is worth paying a bit more for than traditional beef.
Be sure to enjoy all that these wonderful butchers have to offer while you are visiting, and if possible, fill your cooler with ice and take some beef home with you. Each meal will remind you that this area is truly dedicated to making your stay incredible.
