Have You Checked Out the WNC Sculpture Center & Park Yet?In 2019, Joseph Bigley and Zachary Smith-Johnson decided to take on the task of creating a center dedicated to sculpture. With our area being the “Sculpture Capital of North Carolina,” it only seemed fitting to have a space dedicated to this purpose! The WNC Sculpture Center has over 10,000 square feet with 30-foot ceilings to provide plenty of space for artists to learn and work. Local artists can watch for various workshops, including military veteran workshops and more.

When you visit Lenoir & the NC foothills, you really need to check out the free public sculpture park. The 1,400-acre property is amazing in itself, but when you add in a plethora of sculptures, it is a place like no other. Since projects are constantly being developed, every visit is the chance to see something new and exciting. In addition, you can often interact with the artists who completed the sculptures, which is a rare treat in the world of art. There are also events scheduled during the year.

The WNC Sculpture Center & Park is located at 4646 Patterson School Drive in Lenoir, North Carolina. It is free to the public and open from dawn to dusk 7 days a week. There are currently over 70 sculptures on display. Bring the entire family – including your leashed dog!

While you are in the area, don’t forget to check out the rest of the sculptures in the area, as well as the vast number of things to do besides artistic endeavors. Your visit will be unforgettable!
